Knowing the location of the new Esbat, Devon walks in, cleaner than he has usually been as of late. He still seems a little distracted, looking over his shoulder, having one sided conversations and all that. The long ears he possesses twitch often in several directions. He peers over the edge of the building and takes a few steps back. His eyes dart around the room to see if anyone is there, paying particular attention to the shadows everyone always seems to come out of.

Robert, having a conversation with three of the Revenants, one servant and two security, nods a welcome as he continues his conversation directing cleanup from the nights festivities.

Seeing the nod, Devon nods back, awaiting the finishing of the conversation the templar is having with his security detail. While waiting, he keeps looking back towards the shadows suspicious of any lurkers that may be residing. His fingers drum slightly on the flood light he carries around.

Robert finishes directing his men, and heads over towards Devon, taking a seat on one of the benches nearby.
"As predicted, an interesting night. How fare you Devon, have you had a chance to speak to anyone about your... predicament?"
Ever busy, Robert pulls out his phone and starts typing away on it, without so much as a glance down.

He shakes his head slightly looking up at him.
"No, but as everything was going down last night in such a clamor, I am not surprised there are some that are going into hiding. What exactly happened to the city, or is that still under investigation? Why is it that I heard the Bad News Bears were attacked?"[/i]

"There were several reasons given, though I hold my own opinion on the matter. It seems to me that they put themselves in a position opposite the general populace, and the result is that they got firmly smacked down. Given the history of the Sect, I am not surprised in the least by the reaction. Thankfully, cool heads prevailed before things went too far."

Entering through a door, rather than emerging from the shadows, Camille approaches Robert looking quite serious, on a mission.
"In short they pissed off one too many people, that's detrimental to your health, just ask Antonio. I'm wondering when my car bomb is coming, it seems that no one is very happy with me at the moment." *Shrugs* "That's the way of this city I guess, Bishops get taken out and it seems that nothing really gets done about it, I probably don't stand a chance. Kind of pisses me off but it seems that no matter what I do to try to investigate or help the situation I get nowhere. I have had just about enough of people telling me I'm stupid for trying to get shit done, at least I'm trying, there are plenty in this city who do nothing for the city but instead only work on furthering themselves."
Her expression turns a bit hopeful.
"You said that if someone is "eager for action" and isn't sure what needs doing to let you know. I have a lot of connections that I'm not entirely sure what to do with, I kind of inherited them from Hathath so I have had to learn quickly to step into his shoes and have mostly failed in my attempts. I've tried to get assistance from my leaders recently but that failed because he was really busy," *jerks a thumb at Devon* "and the bishops have been busy too. They have important business to attend to, I'm sure, and I know that with all the troubles in the city they don't have time to babysit anyone but too many in this city are lacking any kind of direction. I am at your disposal, if you will give me direction I will do my meager best to assist you in any way I can. I may not be my packs Priest or Ductus but they listen to my input and I'm pretty sure I speak for all of us when I say that any task you have we would gladly assist you with in any way we can. I want what's best for the city, please tell me what I can do to help, maybe if you are directing me I won't make as many missteps. Then maybe I will be a benefit to the sect and actually get something done, I've been doing my best but so far it has not been good enough. I'll probably be car bombed anyway but at least I can be useful until then."

Devon notices his former packmate's gesture and snidely shrugs it off. He then walks to the nearest wall and leans his back against it, folding his arms and shaking his head.
"Whatever Camille, I told you what to do long ago, and you went and did your own thing. You started stirring up trouble, of which you needed to get yourself out of. You really want to know what I was up to when I was 'busy?' I was trying to keep an eye on the Samedi and other enemies of the Sect while you were stirring up more trouble within the Cainites in the city. Though you constantly say how you can't handle what you were awarded with from your rights as per the monomacy challenge you won against Hathath, who put up no resistance by the way. Yeah that's right, I just went there Camille. You constantly ask for help and advice because you are weak by your own words. Actually take some responsibility for your actions. If you can't handle what you won, why do you even bother maintaining it, I mean you already have had no qualms about leaving the haven you were awarded and the things that were living there."[/i]
He then takes a long pause, staring off in another direction, a little distracted. He nods several times and then shakes his head a few times as well. His long ears point up, then fall back before pointing up again.
"So the city got tired of the BNB talking all that shit finally, eh? Good they were able to let out some aggression, but honestly, they really only further the distraction from our true enemies. Cacking off bishops and archbishops with no true motivation can only lead to something even worse than what we have now. This city is beset by enemies on all sides, some stronger than others, some are even within the city. From personal experience some of these enemies are at our very doorstep, or within those we feel are somewhat close to us."[/i]
His look falls back to Camille
"Malak's betrayal was not easily detected, but it appears that infernalists aren't easily revealed. That is why my original pack, who all fell to one of the final infernalist packs, came to this city, to assist and seek out these traitors and free them from their existence. There was a widespread amount of infernalists in this city before, and the purge hasn't been completed. At first I thought the Inquisition was only grasping at straws by keeping their presence within the city, but that assumption was apparently wrong."[/i]
He bows his head down in front of him as he goes deep into thought.

Kale walks into the Esbat. "Man, it took a long time to find THIS place. Haha, cuz, you know, it was burning..." his smile fades. "Anyway, whats all this I hear about being ready for action? Didn't you people get enough of that after what happened last Esbat?" He looks around quizzically. "I mean, you all bum-rushed the three members of the Bad News Bears who showed up to your little pow-wow, without even a mention or a murmur of anything related to a Wild Hunt. Sounds like a breach of the Code to me."
He shrugs, then ponders for a moment. "Wait a minute, your voice sounds familiar... Yes, I remember it now! You were the one talking to Father Horas! You were the one who said that we were all going to kill the Bad News Bears! Oh man, this is gonna be interesting. Who exactly gave you guys the authority to KILL an entire pack?"

Camille looks at her former Ductus and smiles with a surprising amount of tenderness in her eyes, almost like she's sad things turned out this way between them.
"You know what, that's a lot coming from you, in fact that's more words than I have heard from you in the last month. Congrats on finding your manhood and confronting me." *round of applause* "Did I ever say Hathath fought back? I've said time and again that it was very hard for me because he and I were quite close, but for the good of the pack, and the sect, I took care of it. I am taking responsibility, I've said that I've probably screwed some things up in my attempts to manage Hathath's contacts. I even privately offered myself up for punishment to Robert here to atone for my actions, I told him that if I deserve punishment that I will take it willingly. No matter the cost, because it is what's best for the sect. I am doing my best with the tools I have, at great personal expense, I have not personally benefited from any of my actions since Hathath died, I could have tried to become a Ductus in my new pack, I didn't. If anything, my attempts to find out more about the infernal taint in the city and such have hurt me, on several levels. Is it a weakness to know your limits and ask for assistance when you know have reached them? Even at the risk of losing face? I've said time and again that I don't care about image, or rank, or improving my station. I care about this city because I have nowhere else to go and all those I care about are all here. You might not believe it but you are one of those I care about. You're right, I abandoned the Island, and moved all it's residents with me. Why? It was ridiculously obvious and was going to get us killed, I had plans since I took control of it and this just accelerated them a bit. Anyone who is as abrasive as Stacey has been is harmful to the sect, angry words sow the seeds of discontent and cause the city to turn on it's own because of damaged pride. I thought that he could use a bit of humility, he got a heaping dose of it, maybe he will learn."
She turns to Kale, and a fire lights in her eyes, the smile starting to resemble a baring of teeth rather than anything to do with amusement.
"You are quite astute, I may have said something like that, on a radio to Father Horas. As I recall he was rushing me to relay my message as quickly as possible and if I said those exact words then I may have misspoken. I do not recall the entirety of the situation, what with the heat of the moment and all, but I only wished to see Stacey silenced, for once, not dead. You can ask my new Ductus, I avoided Stacey all night just to avoid taking out my foul mood on him. I knew that if I was around him he would grate on my nerves and I might snap on him, to avoid that end I avoided him and when it was made clear that he was black hand I, along with all the others, ceased any and all actions against him. If there is a punishment for misspeaking then fine, I'll take that too if it is deemed that I deserve it."
((OOC: If any of you remember I was really fucking tired that night and my character would not have said something like that, knowing the implications. If it slipped out of my mouth because I was trying to get a message across quickly and paraphrased to get it done, well, sue me.))

((OOC - Keep it IC please))
Robert waits for the trio's heated exchange to come to a momentary lull. "Camille, I certainly did. If you wish to take me up on that, I will get in touch with you in the next few days about specific targets and actions I would like you to take."
He turns back to Devon. "Devon, I am going to need to make use of you shortly as well, I wish to dig a little deeper into the subject we last spoke of, and unfortunately you are the only sample I have at hand. If you could make yourself available I would very much appreciate it."

Jack wanders into the area of Esbat where so many people are now talking. His sleeves are rolled up to the elbows and he wears brown leather(?) sandals, affecting a gentleman-strolling-off-the-beach look, despite the dreary Detroit weather. He looks on each of the cainites present with bright interest.
"Greetings, all. How pleasant to see all of you again. I couldn't help but overhear the conversation, and felt it important to offer a few small observations. Kale, I am afraid you are incorrect about the violence of last friday being a breach of the Code. There were no Final Deaths, no banishments. There was a lot of harsh language thrown about, and there was certainly some gunfire and fisticuffs, but this IS the Sabbat, after all. It's just another Friday night. As for Camille's words, they don't really matter. Whether or not she wanted to kill Stacey or any other BNB, she didn't. Whether it was her ethical code stopped her, or the sheer number of other cainites that did the convincing, the fact remains that she did not do any such thing.
"Camille, dear, don't be afraid to own your feelings. Master them, but don't deny them. There were many that night whom I have no doubt might have killed Stacey for one reason or another. That could just be their Beasts talking, or the teachings of their paths, or maybe some of them might just be murdering vampire fuckheads who drink blood and try to fuck over the guy next to them on general principle. From what I have gathered, many feel that Stacey had that beating and more coming to him; he seems to be rather unpopular outside of his pack. I can't say for certain there, those feelings are for every individual to decide for themself. But based on the forum conversations you and Stacey have had, and your general emotional state on Friday, it would be rather easy for most people to assume you wanted him dead. But as I said, you didn't finish him off, so bully for you for not giving in to your Beast. As Robert has pointed out, cooler heads prevailed before things got too carried away."
He turns now toward Devon and Robert. "Good evening, gentlemen. I trust both of you are well this evening?"

Nodding at Robert, her expression becoming calm and serious again, Camille says...
"It would be my pleasure to take up any task you would give me. We have discussed my talents, you know my capabilities, you have my number."
With that she turns to Jack, her smile returning but with real humor in her eyes this time.
"How do you see so easily into the very heart of the matter? You missed one thing though, I have acknowledged many times before that Stacey has many skills and abilities that are of great use to the sect. I may have some contention with him, I may sometimes wish he were dead, just so we would have a few moments respite from his grating personality but I know that, even with his flaws, he is a great benefit to the sect. I would not purposely endanger the sect by taking him out of this world, it goes contrary to everything I believe but if he, or anyone else, seems to be a liability to the sect then I will not hesitate to take them out. It is true, plenty may have wanted Stacey dead that night, the important thing is that we exercised restraint."
Then she turns back to Kale at these words. Implying that he should be especially glad she chooses to exercise restraint.

Kale continues to grin as he watches Lovelace smooth Camille's feathers. "Very interesting that you say intent doesn't matter... But I'll grant you that she stopped, although I doubt she stopped because of her own will. I'll bet it had something to do with the fact that Church came out and said that she was attacking a member of the Black Hand, and that if she continued, he'd kill her. But, what do I know." He laughs, and makes to leave.

Devon's head shoots up after Kale's comment and he looks at him as he is leaving.
"I see we have yet another that would like to shoot words and cause a bit more distraction from the growing threats to our city. Last I remember we are free to do as we please, though we must always be prepared for responses for our free actions. Intention is not something we can truly argue, only the actions taken. To go anywhere beyond what has occurred would be asinine to say the least. Regardless of reasons behind her stayed hand, she still stayed it and nobody wasn't able to walk out of there."[/i]
He shakes his head slightly, turning back to the Voice.
"I am not some lab rat, but I will let you try what you have planned, as long as I stay who I am and am able to be able to express myself the way I do. If it doesn't require any kinds of leash or chains, then we can discuss these things further. I am pretty sure Bonaparte would also like to know the results of this."[/i]
