Hey guys, I want to know what your thoughts on nailing down what exactly the Ritae ability does, and how we are going to treat it, since in book it's not well defined at all.
There are three ways we could do it IMO, and all have their positives and negatives.
The first and simplest, and the one I least like, is that you buy Ritae and you can do any and all Ritae.
The second, and most complex, is the purchased method.
Ritae ability (Sabbat only): This follows the same graduated progression as languages applied to auctoritas ritae, and double that for ignoblis ritae You may exchange auctoritas ritae for ignoblis ritae, but not the other way around.
Level 1 - 2 Auctoritas, 4 Ignoblis
Level 2 - 3 Auctoritas, 6 Ignoblis
Level 3 - 5 Auctoritas, 10 Ignoblis
Level 4 - 9 Auctoritas, 18 Ignoblis
Level 5 - 16 Auctoritas, 32 Ignoblis
The Third is the most detailed, but the one I like best.
Ritae ability (Sabbat only): While any priest may attempt to hash together the Auctoris Ritae, only masters of the art can successfully perform and of the more complex or powerful Ritae with a sense style and panache.
Attempting to perform a Ritae you do not have the correct level for requires you to make an extra Ritaes test per level of difference. Example: Robert, who has Ritae of 1, can easily perform the Vaulderie for himself and his 3 packmates with just the normal test. However, when attempting to include an extra member he needs to do an extra Ritae's test to pull it off successfully.
