Scene started after the Nameless picked up their watery, wet cargo of War Ghouls and Hell Hounds at a Windsor dock/beach in a Uhaul Van, and shoved em all in the back of that or the back of the SWAT van that Tony and Jacob pulled up in.
They drove to the chantry site, a forboding castle like structure in the wealthy neighborhoods of Essix, a bit south of Windsor. They considered for a time breaking into a bunch of the houses around and embracing a bunch of people and pointing them at the chantry, but decided against it when Tony and Jacob informed them that that would probably set off numerous alarms, and bring the authorities, who are already on a hightened alert up there. They decided instead to have Tony cut security and move on the chantry with the forces they had.
The first wave of the assault was Bishop Lucas Mendoza, after a crash course in how to drive (push down on this pedal here, it makes you go forward, the other pedal...no, just don't use the other pedal) driving like a madman up the long driveway attempting to ram the uhaul into the van. About 3/4ths of the way up, the van stalls for some reason (Machine Blitz ritual), and comes to a stop, then starts to roll backwards. Lucas, not knowing what to do (he was told not to use the break pedal remember?) jumps out of the truck, and tries to run behind it and stop it with force.
So, picture this, the rest of the assault squad is sitting at the bottom of the hill, just starting up the driveway, and they see their first wave uhaul truck rolling back down on them, Bishop Lucas, priestly robes flapping in the wind, sprinting like mad along side it trying to catch up and get behind it. After a brief moment of panic because he isn't quite fast enough, he pops black metamorphosis (which we both remembered he didn't have anymore just after the scene) and uses the tenticles to give him the extra reach and leverage to slow the van down.
Phew, first obstacle passed! They decided to just start the assault from there, since it is unlikely that they were not noticed. So Bishop Lucas rips open the back of the Uhaul and orders the troops and hellhounds in the back to attack. They look at him. He orders them to attack. They cock their heads to the side in confusion. Their master Alexi shows up and says attack and they all give a growl and charge at the chantry.
They all rush up to the chantry, and onto the cobblestone driveway in front of it, and as I describe this, Paul gives a mighty groan, and I nod to him sagely and sadly describe his hellhounds and war ghouls all get returned to their normal forms as regular dogs and poor homeless bastards, as they run across this unobtrusive barrier, for each and every cobblestone is a stone of the true form.
Quickly recapping from this minor setback, Jacob grabs the uhaul and manhandles it across the cobblestones into a sort of bridge to the door. And after a brief intermission while the Nameless remarked to him about how impressive his strength is. Then Jacob picked up Bishop Lucas and threw him through a window.
At Lucas's request of course. Using his metamorphosis tentacles he came to a safe, if undignified, stop in the main entry. The rest of the group soon joined him through the front door, which Jacob ripped off it's hinges after shivering slightly upon first contact with it. They quickly searched the upstairs rooms, finding nothing more then the occasional rare old book (nothing mystical) and nice artwork and lots, and lots of large mirrors.
After their search, they started into the cellars, or rather, they looked at the stairs down into the cellars for quite some time until Jacob got impatient with their talking about ritual this, ritual that, blah blah blah, and hefted his mighty door (he had kept the front door as his weapon) and went down the stairs. The Nameless had moved a short distance away discussing their plans and rituals, so only Bishop tony was close enough to see a flash of movement and hear a yelp of surprise as Jacob vanished from view.
They immediately started trying to figure out what happened, they went and got a couple of the dogs that were formerly hell hounds, and sent them down the stairs (threw them down actually, they didn't know how to walk anymore since they hadn't had front legs since they were puppies). The dogs stumbled around down there for awhile whining and doing nothing useful. Then they grabbed one of the feeble homeless people, former war ghouls, and told him to go down and open the door on the far side. So he went down, reached out to open the door, and paused, as if confused. Then turned around revealing the stump to which his arm had been attached. (this was a simple blade trap) The homeless ghoul slumped over dying. They then decided to throw a flashbang down there, which Bishop Lucas watched in fascination as it went sailing down...and blinded him. He quickly snuffed that infernal light with use of his shroud, slowly killing the dogs and finishing off the homeless ghoul at the bottom. When he had recovered his vision, they decided to be a bit more direct and go down themselves.
Slowly, in groups so as not to get everyone stuck in the same trap, they descended the stairs and started down the hallway towards the door. And as they came up towards the door, bishop Lucas and Jaffar, who were in the front fell into the same trap, passing through the incorporeal passage into a room of stakes. The stakes were all infused with acidic blood and engaging the vessel of transference. They discovered Jabob down there staked, eventually freed themselves from the trap and killed the homoculi that was controlling the ritual.
They next made their way into the Tremere's main library (occult library 1), found three more doors. They broke those open, while Bishop Lucas went back towards the main house to gather up one of the ghoul remnants. As he approached the stairs up, a huge clawed hand came out of the stonework, slashing into his face doing some nasty damage, and with him only catching a glimpse of the Gargoyle, retreated back into the stone walls. Lucas quickly made his way back to his companions.
Tony, after extinquishing all the lights, started sneaking down the hallway they had opened, that sloped sharply down and around a corner. As Tony came to the corner, again, a huge hand erupted out of the stone and slashed into Tony, this time however they group was able to grapple the Gargoyle and eventually with much effort, able to pull it out of the wall and torpor it.
It was late at this time so we mostly narrated the last part, with the eventually getting down past the three wards that blocked this passage, and into a massive, crypt like room, in which yet another ward surrounded a large sarcophagus in the middle.
That's where we called it, and they can finish as a DT
