Stacey,
Eh, it's cool. No hard feelings from us Canucks. Well, not from me, anyways. I never met this last Archbishop, and all I have to go off of is what was said in Montreal. Mostly they were things about him being an insane monster who wanted to use you all as goose-stepping shocktroops, and the rest of the Sabbat was next. We weren't cool with that. We like things the way they are. And if the locals didn't notice when Mr. Hawthorne went missing...maybe that tells us all something about his rep? Because rep matters. Frankly, it seems like nobody cared. A sad state of affairs to be sure.
Jacob, We can't just replace someone if they don't do a good job. A Cardinal chooses an Archbishop, not the majority vote in a city, and not whomever has the biggest sword. You want the might to make right? I hear California is looking for some more fence-sitting fools. Here we have rules. Not as many as Hawthorne would have liked, but rules nonetheless.
Anyways, I had a 'fun' time last Esbat. Thanks for the warm welcome, considering the recent relations between Detroit and my recent city of residence.
Sincerely, Guy Forget

Archbishop Hawthorne was actually a really enjoyable leader. I was kind of sad to see him go. It really didn't have anything to do with him, though. It was just about what side of this war people stood on, if any. I'm all for insane monsters to do the hard shit other kind souls won't do, but when you pick your friends in a war, you also pick your enemies. I for one, will miss him.
Not noticing when Hawthorne went missing doesn't say as much about Hawthorne as it does the people in the city, oblivious to a lot of the stuff going on around them. Some people just can't see the big picture and that's sad. But in Detroit it is a way of life. All the more reason you need good leaders. Speaking of which...
For Jacob, I was just wondering who you were talking about that didn't get put on the "cool kids list". You gotta be more specific on who you're talking to. And you really should be more discriminating on who your leaders are, lest you follow your leader right off a cliff - which is where Detroit was most likely headed before the change in leadership took place. Who leads this city has a big affect on the fate of the city as a whole. That's just friendly advice, but I'm used to the apathy from this city. At first it was frustrating, but once you learn how to control that kind of outlook, it really is quite useful.

It was more generally aimed, not specifically targeted.
I don't beleive in democracy, in fact I rather detest it. But even in the Sabbat, respect must be earned. It is not apathy that spawns indifference to leadership, it is indifferent leadership.
As far as jumping off cliffs, well a lot of that is up to the follower. No matter how charismatic, any leader asking me to follow him on a long walk in the sun, is going to miss me. I don't think any of us follows blindly.

I don't think any of us follows blindly. Spend some time in Detroit before you make up your mind about that one. I guarantee you that your opinion on that particular topic will change.

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. I disagree, historically speaking, it would be much more likely he would have been stoned to death. ~Robert
